What is Bathtub Refinishing?
Porcelain Bathtub Refinishing developed over 3 decades ago as a cost effective and time saving alternative to replacement for the apartment and hotel industry. Originally, epoxies were used for the refinish coating; later, urethanes proved to be more desirable. Refinishing of additional components soon followed, including sinks, ceramic tile, cabinets, countertops, fiberglass showers, acrylic, and cultured marble. As technology has improved the quality & durability of coatings, bathtub refinishing became a viable alternative for residential homeowners over bathroom remodeling or bathtub replacement. Bathtub Refinishing is also known in the industry as glazing, re-glazing, refurbishing and resurfacing.
Why Refinish?
A new basic bathtub will cost around $100. How long will a refinish last?
A refinished surface is extremely durable. The key to having it last a long time is to ensure a good bond to the surface being refinished. Therefore, great measures are taken to prepare the surface before refinishing.
Our warranty on fiberglass fixtures is 8 years, and on porcelain or enamel bathtubs, 5 years from date of refinish.
